Pool and Spa Use Policies

HOME     DIRECTIONS

The pool and spa are owned by the HVTIA. They have been provided for the use and enjoyment of all owners and their guests. However, the facilities are regulated and inspected by the Pima County Health Department, and we must abide by the following rules and policies for their use:

*      General rules of use are posted at the pool and also at the spa.

*      There are no lifeguards. CHILDREN under 14 must be accompanied AT ALL TIMES by either an adult, who is at least 18 years of age, or a person with Junior or Senior Lifesaving certificate who has accepted responsibility for their safety. Children must not be left alone at any time in the enclosed pool/spa area. If infants, toddlers or small children are left unattended, authorities will be notified.

For safety of children: Parents need to be vigilant about limiting the number of children in a supervised group. Each eligible household can authorize one adult 18 years or older plus four children under age 18 (including under age-18 children from the household of the adult-in-charge and children the adult has agreed to supervise from other households) for a maximum group of five persons per pool visit.

*      Owners are fully responsible and liable for the behavior of children, renters, and any guests using the pool/spa facilities. Failure to manage the behavior of these individuals could result in a loss of pool/spa privileges or a $50 minimum fine for any damage in the pool area.

*      Every resident must use a pool key to enter or leave the pool and spa area. Owners can contact their block directors or the HVTIA President for a replacement key. There is a $5 fee for a lost key. If you are a renter, contact your landlord. Pool area gates must remain locked at all times, and temporary propping of gates is prohibited.

*      Residents may use pool area facilities during posted hours and include up to 4 guests. However, guests MUST be accompanied by the resident at ALL times. You can apply to HVTIA President for special event consideration.

*      SWIMSUITS ARE REQUIRED for adults, children, toddlers and babies. NO other type of clothing or nudity is permitted. Swim diapers are required for babies and toddlers. These are Health Department regulations; our pool and spa can be shut down if not followed.

*      Swim rings, arm floats and other floating devices are not considered life-saving devices. Children must be monitored very closely when using these items.

*      The spa is heated all year. The pool is heated from about March 15 to October 15; exact dates flex depending on weather conditions. When the weather requires covers on the pool and spa, please replace them after each use. Please roll up the pool cover slowly and reposition as needed so that it does not wrinkle or fold on itself. The spa cover should be pulled off flat and folded. Covers insulate best and last longest if replaced bubble-side down. Please do not walk on or place objects on the covers. As soon as weather permits, the covers are removed and stored away from pool.

*      ANIMALS (or other non-human species ) are NOT PERMITTED anywhere in the walled area of the pool.

*      Food must be confined to the area under the ramada roof and the patio. Please use plastic containers if possible. Beverages in glass containers must be enclosed in an insulated or rigid holder. Beverages are not allowed in the pool or spa.

*      Showers are to be used only by owners and guests using pool/spa facilities.

*      No running, aggressive play, loud, vulgar, dangerous, property damaging activities permitted.

*      Use the trash cans, recycle bin and ashtrays. Check that faucets are turned off in restrooms before leaving. Please leave the pool/spa area clean, and take all your belongings when you leave the area.
